BigFish

Dear Friends!
I have finished the new series called

These are fourteen oil paintings, 28x28 inches on author's ground. All of the pictures can be found on my site here or on my blog where I publish my works in the order of their creation so that you can see the dynamics of art :)
And the same blog shows photos taken during the process of painting one of the works so that you can see how it was done step-by-step.
It can be found here.
I think this series is now ready for a small exhibition hall. After a little bit of rest I will look for the country and gallery for this exhibition.
Maybe I will combine two series into one exhibition: "
BigFish" along with "Six Seas."
I will think about it. But first, a small vacation!

Thank you for following my work and for your feedback, your emails, and your comments.
It really does help me in my work and I genuinely appreciate it.

Yours
Michael Solovyev

Singing Fish or painting step-by-step

I am receiving many emails and many comments on Facebook about my style and technique.
I am very grateful for all for the interest in my work, as it supports me.
Thank you my friends!

And in case you are curious...
I will tell you about about this series and how I worked on it.
Well…
I wanted to make a series of paintings of the same size and all in one technique - "BigFish."
I thought of 14 paintings. Before I work I usually prepare my canvases or cardboards myself.
For this series I chose cardboard and primed them, preparing them for nearly two weeks.
On the top of each piece cardboard are several layers - each layer is polished and primed.
This is a long process...
In addition, at I went to the aquarium in Moscow and to the Moscow Zoo. I looked at all of the fish to get some ideas. :)

All of the paintings in this series were created in one sitting.
The time it takes to complete each work varies. Usually, it takes 8-9 hours.
This is an explosion of energy for me. And after the painting is completed I just lie there for a little while :)

So here is today's new picture:
